First Splash, Lube or no Lube - Here I come!

Hello. I am 2muchinfo. And that pretty much sums up my pitiful version of "personality".

I will first start with my likes and disliked, as inspired by such esteemed publications as Playboy, Penthouse and other similar magazines (Mags beginning with the letter P, of course, what did you think I meant?).

Likes -

1. Music - Ever since I was a little kid, I have been aware of the existence of this "music".
I like how the words sounds, it kinda tickles your tongue when you say it. Don't believe me? Try it out yourself (but don't say it too many times, I've heard absolute horror stories).
But seriously now. I enjoy music. Maybe even more then the next guy (and that's saying alot, he is quite a monumental figure). I mostly listen to indie bands (I don't mean the genre necessarily - independently produced music). I'm sure I will fill out many a post with content concerning some band or another.

2. Video Games - Let's face it I'm a geek - I love indie music, I'm very much into video games, and I'm sexually awkward, and generally bad with the ladies.
Now you're probably thinking - "Video games are getting to be pretty mainstream these days and are no longer just a geek thing". Well think again, I'm totally devoted to Nintendo consoles. Yep.
I'm so freaking devoted that I follow www.gonintendo.com religiously, checking for updates about 12 times a day. Still think I'm not a geek? Well who am I kidding, you probably took me at my word to begin with. See? I do talk too much.

3. Films and TV - There was a day when I wouldn't have dared to pair these two different medias together. But TV is getting better all the time, and some productions are getting to be on par with feature films. It used to be that quality TV was an oxymoron, and such a rare specimen could only be seen under a very powerful microscope (or in HBO). But today even Network shows are coming around. Some Network series are even, dare I say it, Superbilicious.

4. Local and World Politics - Oh yes.. the dreaded P word. Mostly used (or more fittingly - abused) as a kind of unholy licence for the most pretentious, superfluous, and patronising writing on the web. You know, those "I'm the only one who sees reality clearly, and everyone else is blind and/or stupid and/or evil".

"If there only were more people like me (huge sigh, echoed throughout the world) in this god forsaken world".

I am naturally inclined to politics because of the flammable political climate in my country - Israel.

Let me set some ground rules on political discussion :

I find black and white political points of view.. hilarious. You are encouraged to delve into them as much as you want, but you won't garner a response from me. I will not dignify any view in which "what Israel is doing to the Palestinians is worse than what the Nazis did to the Jews" is dominant. I am the first to criticize Israel (and the second and the third... and the 10000th).... err.. hmm.... I forgot my point :)

I want to say flat out - I think our policies towards the Palestinians are dead wrong and are based in fear, ignorance and old fashion conservatism. But I do appreciate the complexity of the issue. People are basically the same everywhere. And in Israel we have (mostly) decent, (mostly, well maybe not) educated and moral people. We are not evil. And for god's sake - We are NOT Zionists (or Zionazis). at least not by the definition of so called Anti-Zionists (more like freaking racists - they are fighting a fictional enemy). We are mostly secular, and we do not believe we have a god given right to this land (since we do not believe in God). We do not think we are the master race either. Most of us are liberal enough to endorse and promote the universal values of human rights and democracy.

Summing up, It is very easy to dehumanize others in order to feel better about ourselves. We are ALL human, and we all make mistakes (and we all mess up in remedying them). And it takes a very small, easily excited and easily swayed mind, to think otherwise.

Dislikes - The part above about simplistic black/white politics, fake cheese, Gregorian chants, public TV, stereotypes (who am I kidding... I LOVE stereotypes), and much much more.... :)

In conclusion, if any of these topics appeal to you I will be churning and churning them night/day and day/night.

Please leave any suggestions, comments, complaints.

I am now open for business (That didn't sound very good did it?)

Congratulations on the new blog!

Asaf,

Did you mean to write science or silence?

Greek philosophers, medieval theorists defined the music phenomena as tones ordered horizontally as melodies, and vertically as harmonies. Music theory, within this realm, is studied with the pre-supposition that music is orderly and often pleasant to hear. 20th century and modern composers challenge the notion that music has to be pleasant, Today, the crudest noises can be considered music if the listener is inclined. As John Cage, (20th century composer) once said: "There is no noise, only sound"... (Man do I love this wiki or what?) allow me to TAN(talk) and say this: "Since the dawn of wiki, memory is of absolutely no use." Oh, congrats! nice bloggy-loggy. I give it a spez. A!

How may I be witty in serving this well deserved comment. Considering our blood relation, I suppose it might be just fine if I said nothing more than..... cool.

Then again, I've always been a fan of your writing, so perhaps to leave a trivial comment such as "cool", will discourage from doing something you are clearly a natural at.

Good luck,I look forward to reading more in the future.

Signed... your sister.
